Resep Semur Telur

Despite being a traditional Indonesian dish, semur was influenced by Dutch cuisine, where “Smoor” refers to a tomato and onion-based stew. However, Indonesian cooks have adapted the spices to suit local tastes, though it’s often associated with Betawi cuisine.

Instructions

  1. Saute ground spices, lemongrass and bay leaves until fragrant and cooked.
  2. Pour in the thin coconut milk. Stir well.
  3. Add boiled eggs, sweet soy sauce, salt, brown sugar. Stir well then cook until it boils and the coconut milk reduces slightly.
  4. Pour in thick coconut milk. Stir well. Cook until the spices are absorbed and thicken while continuing to stir. Lift.
  5. Ready to be served with a sprinkling of fried onions.
  6. 1. When the thick coconut milk comes in, stir continuously so that the coconut milk doesn't break. 2. So that the pan doesn't get scratched and the boiled eggs don't peel, use an IKEA SPECIELL spatula (See Lazada DISCOUNT). Because this spatula is made from food grade polyamide which is not sharp, non-sticky and sturdy. Durable even if used frequently.
