Resep Gemblong Ketan Putih
These sweet dumplings are made with a sticky rice flour, shredded coconut, and coconut milk mixture. They’re shaped into small balls, deep-fried, and then coated in melted palm sugar, best enjoyed chilled after the sugar has hardened.

- In a bowl, mix sticky rice flour, rice flour, grated coconut and salt. Stir well.
- Add the coconut milk little by little while kneading until just combined. Stop adding coconut milk when the dough can be formed.
- Take enough dough, around 30 grams. Shape oval and flatten (so it cooks quickly when fried). Do this until the dough runs out.
- Heat the oil. Fry gemblong over medium heat until cooked. Lift and drain. Set aside.
- Sugar Coating (Besta): In a saucepan, cook water, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and pandan leaves until the sugar dissolves. Strain then cook again until the sugar foams and thickens.
- Put the gemblong into the sugar. Stir quickly until the entire surface of the gemblong is coated with sugar.
- Transfer the gemblong to a container. Let stand until the sugar hardens and cools.
- Ready to be served.
- 1. Don't make the gemblong dough too thick, so that it can cook to the inside. 2. After the gemblong enters the sugar solution, stir it quickly because the sugar will soon dry out.
