Resep Nasi Tiwul
In some parts of Java, tiwul is a traditional grain dish often served as a rice substitute alongside various side dishes, similar to how rice is enjoyed.

- Tiwul rice: Wash instant tiwul, soak for 5 minutes, then drain. Steam the tiwul until cooked for 10-15 minutes, remove from heat.
- Fried chicken: Add the chicken, ground spices, water, bay leaves, galangal, lemongrass to the pan then mix well. Cook over low heat until the water runs out and the spices are absorbed. Once the heat is completely gone, continue heating the oil, fry the chicken until golden brown.
- Garit fried tempeh: Puree the garlic and salt, add a little water. Cut the tempeh, cut both sides, coat with spices. Leave it for 10 minutes. Fry until brownish yellow.
- Gereh pethek: Fry the gereh pethek in hot oil until quite dry.
- Tomato sauce: Chop the chilies, onions and tomatoes. Fry in oil used to fry tempeh, until wilted. Crush the fried chilies, onions and tomatoes, season with salt and brown sugar.
- Boiled papaya leaves: Cook water until boiling, add papaya leaves and salt. Boil until the papaya leaves are soft. Remove, let cool slightly, then squeeze out the water. Set aside.
- Arrange the rice on a serving plate. Place all the accessories around the rice. Ready to be served.
