  1. In a bowl, mix the two sticky rice flour, grated coconut and salt. Stir well.
  2. Add the coconut milk little by little while kneading until just combined. Stop adding coconut milk when the dough can be formed.
  3. Take enough dough, around 30 grams. Shape oval and flatten (so it cooks quickly when fried). Do this until the dough runs out.
  4. Heat the oil. Fry gemblong over medium heat until cooked. Come back occasionally. Lift and drain. Set aside.
  5. Sugar Coating (Besta): In a saucepan, cook water and granulated sugar until the sugar dissolves. Keep stirring until the sugar mixture foams and starts to become stringy.
  6. Put the gemblong into the sugar. Stir quickly until the entire surface of the gemblong is coated with sugar.
  7. Transfer the gemblong to a container. Let stand until the sugar hardens and cools.
  8. Ready to be served.
  9. 1. Don't make the gemblong dough too thick, so that it can cook to the inside. 2. After the gemblong enters the sugar solution, stir it quickly because the sugar will soon dry out.
