Ingredients

4 servings
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 cups cherry or pear tomatoes ((whole or halved))
  • 2 teaspoons granulated white sugar
  • 1 medium garlic clove, (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper

Steps

  1. Heat the oil in 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add the tomatoes and sugar and cook, tossing frequently, until the tomatoes are hot, about 1 minute. Stir in the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

  2. Off heat, stir in the basil and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve.
