Instructions
- Steam the cassava until cooked. Remove and mash while warm.
- In a bowl, mix the smooth cassava mixture with brown sugar, salt and vanilla. Knead until smooth.
- Pour in coconut milk. Continue kneading until evenly mixed. Leave it for 15 minutes. Mix brown sugar, salt, vanilla into the smooth cassava mixture. Knead well. Add coconut milk and knead again until mixed well. Leave it for 15 minutes.
- In a container, combine all the dipping ingredients and stir well. Set aside.
- In a frying pan, heat a lot of oil.
- Take a little of the getuk dough and just roll it into a ball (it doesn't need to be neat and the same size). Dip in dipping mixture, then fry in hot oil. Do this until the dough runs out.
- Fry until brownish yellow. Lift and drain.
- Ready to be served.
- 1. Cassava can be steamed using a pressure cooker for a shorter time, namely around 10 minutes. 2. You can grind steamed cassava using a grinder or food processor. 3. The sugar dosage can be adjusted to taste. Fried getuk, which is widely sold as souvenirs, usually uses a 1:1 dose of cassava and sugar and does not use coconut milk to make it last longer.
