Sweet martabak is believed to have originated in Bangka Belitung, originally known as Hok Lo Pan. Consequently, many street vendors sell it as “Bangka martabak” to appeal to local customers.

- Prepare a thick, non-stick omelette pan with a diameter of 16 cm, grease with butter/margarine.
- Mix flour, yeast, baking powder, salt, vanilla and granulated sugar then stir well. Add the eggs, stir while pouring in the liquid milk until evenly mixed. Leave for 1.5 hours, then stir again for 15 minutes.
- Pour the mixture into the heated pan then cover. Once the surface is hollow, spread butter, sprinkle topping then fold in half. Remove, cut into pieces and serve.
