Ingredients

4 servings
  • 12 oz (340g) top sirloin steaks (about 1 1/2-inch (4cm) thick steak)
  • coarse salt
  • ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter (softened)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon parsley (chopped)

Steps

  1. Generously season both sides of the top sirloin steaks with salt and ground black pepper. Set aside.

  2. Prepare the Garlic Butter by mixing together the butter, garlic, and parsley. Let it cool in the fridge.

  3. Heat a cast-iron skillet over high heat until it’s smoking hot. Add the oil. Transfer the steak to the skillet and pan-sear one side (do not turn) for about 4 minutes. Turn the steak over and pan-sear the other side for another 4 minutes. Transfer the steak to a serving platter.

  4. Add a dollop of garlic butter on top of the steak and serve immediately.
