Resep Prol Tape
This cake, known as “prol” because it immediately breaks apart when eaten, is a Jember specialty with a sweet, rich flavor and the distinctive aroma of cassava tape – similar to a dense cake.

Instructions
- Discard the bones in the tape then grind them.
- Take 1 egg yolk to use as a smear later. Break up the rest and shake it off. Set aside.
- Mix cassava tape, granulated sugar and salt. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Add the beaten egg. Stir well.
- Add flour and milk powder. Stir again.
- Add milk and melted margarine. Stir well.
- Prepare a baking pan (I used 2 baking pans measuring 20x10x3 cm), grease with margarine and line with baking paper.
- Pour the mixture into the pan.
- Bake in the oven for 20 minutes at 160-170°C. Take it out.
- Brush the surface with egg yolk. Then sprinkle with grated cheese and raisins.
- Bake again for 30-40 minutes until cooked. Remove and cool to cut into pieces
- Ready to be served.
- 1. Bake the prol tape at a temperature that is not too high so that this type of cake, which is heavy and dense, can cook all the way through. 2. Use the KIRIN KBO-90M Electric Oven (See it at Lazada DISCOUNT) with an easy-to-use temperature controller and also a built-in timer, so the prol tape won't burn. This electric oven also has top and bottom heating, so the prol tape can cook evenly. 3. Cut the prole tape after it has completely cooled so that the cake doesn't crumble. 4. Toppings can be replaced with chocolate chips and almonds or walnuts, according to taste.
