Ingredients

18 servings
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate (melted)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ cup granulated sugar

Steps

  1. In a large bowl cream together butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Stir in melted chocolate.

  2. Mix in egg, milk, and vanilla until well combined.

  3. In a separate, medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  4. Gradually add dry ingredients into wet until completely combined.

  5. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight.

  6. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  7. Form dough into 1 ½ tablespoon-sized balls with your hands. Roll in granulated sugar and place on a baking sheet, leaving 2 inches between each cookie

  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes. The cookies will come out soft from the oven but will firm up as they cool. (Be careful not to over bake as they will dry out.)

  9. Allow to cool on the cookie sheet for 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
