Ingredients

  • One 15.25-ounce box lemon cake mix
  • One 3-ounce box lemon Jell-O gelatin
  • 1/2 cup vegetable or canola oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, (sifted)
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F. Grease and flour a 13x9-inch pan (or spray with baking spray).

  2. In a medium bowl, combine the brownie ingredients with an electric mixer (the batter will be thick). Spread into the prepared pan.

  3. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until golden brown and slightly firm to touch.

  4. While the brownies are baking, use a wire whisk to combine the sugar and lemon juice in a small bowl until smooth.

  5. Poke holes into the hot baked brownies with a toothpick. Spoon the glaze all over the top.

  6. Cool the cake completely, and then cut into squares.
