Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter (room temperature)
  • 4 minced garlic cloves (OR 1 teaspoon granulated garlic or garlic powder)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley leaves (OR 2 teaspoons dried parsley)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil leaves (OR 1 teaspoon dried basil)
  • 1 loaf crusty Italian bread or baguette

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine the butter, garlic, parsley, and basil in a small bowl and stir to mix well.

  2. Slice the loaf of bread lengthwise and place the bread on a large baking sheet. Divide the herb butter over the bread and spread with a spatula to the edges of each sliced half. Slice the buttered bread into individual pieces.

  3. Bake for 15 minutes until the butter has melted and the edges of the bread are toasted and golden.
