Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 ¼ cups white sugar
  • ½ cup butter, (softened)
  • ½ cup eggnog
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons eggnog

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. Combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside.

  3. Cream the sugar and butter together in a mixing bowl.

  4. Add the eggnog, vanilla, and egg yolks. Beat at medium speed with an electric hand mixer until smooth.

  5. Add the flour mixture and beat at low speed until combined. Do not over-mix.

  6. Scoop the cookie dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet or parchment paper. Smash the cookie dough slightly with the bottom of a glass or with your fingers.

  7. Bake for 12 minutes or until the edges are lightly brown.

  8. While the cookies bake, make the glaze by combining the powdered sugar with 3 tablespoons of eggnog.

  9. After your cookies are done, let them cool for 5-10 minutes, then drizzle the glaze over your cookies. Sprinkle the cookies with nutmeg and enjoy!
