Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ⅓ cup cold butter
  • 1 to 1 ¼ cup milk

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Grease a large baking sheet.

  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda in a medium bowl.

  3. Add cold butter and cut in with a pastry blender until the butter is the size of peas or slightly smaller.

  4. Add milk a bit at a time stirring after each addition until the dough holds together but is soft enough to be dropped with a spoon.

  5. Drop dough by heaping tablespoons to create 12 biscuits.

  6. Bake 12-15 minutes or lightly browned.
