Instructions

  1. Prepare a rectangular baking dish, line it with banana leaves and pandan leaves.
  2. Steam the banana and cassava until cooked then remove from heat.
  3. While hot, mash the banana and cassava together with grated coconut, granulated sugar, salt, vanilla and coloring until evenly mixed.
  4. Pour the getuk mixture into the pan, smooth the surface while compacting.
  5. Steam again for 30 minutes then remove from heat.
  6. Once cool, cut into pieces according to taste. Serve with a sprinkling of grated coconut.
