Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups old fashioned oats

  • ¼ cup raisins
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • chopped pecans (brown sugar and cream for topping, optional)

Steps

  1. Bring water, milk, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt to a boil.

  2. Stir in oats, apples, and raisins. Reduce heat to simmer and cook 13-16 minutes stirring frequently so the milk doesnt burn.

  3. Remove from heat and stir in butter. Top as desired and serve.
