- 1 pound lean ground turkey
- 1 yellow onion (finely diced)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 g reen bell pepper (diced)
- hamburger buns (and coleslaw for serving)
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
Steps
Combine turkey, onion, and garlic in large skillet. Cook over medium heat until no pink remains. Drain if needed.
Add green pepper and cook until tender, about 5 minutes.
Add sauce ingredients, stir, and simmer uncovered until thickened, about 5-6 minutes.
Spoon over hamburger buns and add coleslaw if desired.
