Sweet Peach Ice Cream
The quintessential flavor combination of peaches and cream has been transformed into cold and creamy homemade ice cream and it is everything I imagined it would be.

- 1½ pounds fresh peaches (peeled and diced into approximately ½-inch pieces, about 4 cups worth)
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1¾ cups heavy cream
- 1¼ cup whole milk
- ⅔ cup sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (OPTIONAL)
- ⅛ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
Steps
Combine the peaches, sugar, and lemon juice in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously while the sugar melts and the mixture comes to a boil.
Reduce the heat to low and continue cooking for about 8-10 minutes, until the peaches are soft. Use a wooden spoon to smash the fruit a bit as it is cooking.
Remove from the heat and cool completely before dividing the sauce in half and placing both portions in the refrigerator to chill until needed.
Whisk together the cream, milk, sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and almond extract. Pour into the ice cream machine and freeze according to the manufacturer's directions.
Scoop the churned ice cream into a freezer container, adding a spoonful or two of the chilled peach sauce along with each scoop of the ice cream. Swirl lightly with a knife and place in the freezer until ready to serve. Serve with the remaining peach sauce on top.
