Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs . chicken wings, drumettes and mid sections
  • 1 inch ginger (peeled and sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon cooking sake (or rice wine, optional)
  • 3 dashes ground white pepper
  • 1/2 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 tablespoon dark soy sauce (for coloring purpose, optional)
  • 1/2 tablespoon corn starch (plus 2 tablespoons water)
  • salt (to taste)
  • white sesame seeds (for garnishing)

Steps

  1. Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and drain them.

  2. Transfer the chicken wings and all the ingredients into a slow cooker, then stir to combine well.

  3. Cook on high heat for 3 1/2 hours. Turn off the heat, dish out the contents, top with white sesame seeds, and serve immediately.
