Ingredients

6 servings
  • 1 (5.9 ounce each) box instant chocolate pudding mix (plus 3 cups milk, as required)
  • ⅔ cup granulated sugar
  • ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 ¼ cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 ½ cups heavy whipping cream (cold)
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 (13.29 ounce each) package Oreo cookies
  • whipped cream (or whipped topping)

Steps

  1. Place cookies into a zippered bag and slightly crush using a rolling pin. You want them broken up but not completely into crushed.

  2. Remove 2 tablespoons of crumbs and set aside for garnish.

  3. Box of Chocolate Pudding prepared according to directions

  4. In a saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch and salt, mix well. Add in cold milk, stir until combined.

  5. Turn heat onto medium high stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil.

  6. Allow to boil for 1 minute while stirring, remove from heat and stir in butter. Cool completely stirring occasionally to avoid a skin forming.

  7. With an electric mixer, mix heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.

  8. Gently fold in softened cream cheese until mixed.

  9. In a mason jar, layer the pudding, cookies, and cheesecake mixtures.

  10. Refrigerate for 3 hours or overnight before serving.

  11. Top with whipped cream or whipped topping and reserved cookie crumbs
