Ingredients

12 servings
  • ¾ cup whole milk
  • ½ cup (1 stick) salted butter, (melted)
  • ¼ cup sour cream or whole Greek yogurt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup miniature chocolate chips, (divided)

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 400℉. Line a muffin tin with paper liners (or spray with nonstick spray).

  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, sour cream, egg and vanilla extract.

  3. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients; stir until the batter is combined. Stir in ¾ cup of the chocolate chips.

  4. Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin cups, filling each ⅔ full. Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top.

  5. Bake 15 to 18 minutes, until the muffins test done.
