Ingredients

4 servings
  • 4 cups peeled and diced large apples (about 10 apples, I used Granny Smith)
  • ¾ cup water
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (if desired)

Steps

  1. Add 4 cups peeled and diced large apples, ¾ cup water, ¼ cup granulated sugar, 1 ½ tablespoons lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, if desired, to a large pot.

  2. Bring it to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 25-30 minutes.

  3. Once the apples are tender, mash them to your desired consistency.
