Ingredients

4 servings
  • ⅓ cup butter
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • ⅔ cup half and half (or light cream)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • salt and black pepper (to taste)

Steps

  1. Combine butter and garlic in a small skillet and cook over medium low heat until the butter is melted and garlic becomes fragrant.

  2. Whisk in flour and cook 1 minute more. Stir in cream, a bit at a time, whisking after each addition. Simmer 2-3 minutes or until thickened.

  3. Remove from heat and stir in parsley. Season generously with salt & pepper to taste.

  4. Serve with pasta or as a dipping sauce for chicken, shrimp or steak.
