Ingredients

- Two 15-ounce cans diced tomatoes
- ¼ cup finely chopped sweet onion
- 2 medium garlic cloves, (minced)
- 12 medium leaves fresh basil
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- ½ cup heavy whipping cream ((or half & half))
Steps

Add the tomatoes, onion, garlic, basil, salt and pepper to a food processor or blender. Pulse or blend until smooth.

Pour the mixture into a medium saucepan set over medium low heat. Add the heavy cream, stir to combine, and cook for 5 minutes, stirring, until hot. Serve warm.
