Ingredients

6 servings
  • 12 ounces Brussels sprouts (about 3 cups)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (divided)
  • ¼ cup panko bread crumbs
  • salt and pepper to taste

Steps

  1. Wash Brussels sprouts, remove any outer leaves. Cut an 'X' in the bottom of each (or cut in half if they're large).

  2. Place a steamer insert in a large pot and add about an inch of water (so it isn't touching the steamer basket)

  3. Bring the water to a boil and reduce to a simmer. Cover and steam brussels sprouts 5-7 minutes or until fork tender.

  4. While brussels are simmering, melt 1 tablesppon butter in a small skillet. Add Panko bread crumbs and toast over medium heat until lightly browned (about 5 minutes).

  5. Place the brussels sprouts in a bowl and toss with 1 tablespoon butter and season generously with salt & pepper. Sprinkle toasted bread crumbs over the Brussels and serve hot.
