Ingredients
- 12 ounces Brussels sprouts (about 3 cups)
- 2 tablespoons butter (divided)
- ¼ cup panko bread crumbs
- salt and pepper to taste
Steps
-
Wash Brussels sprouts, remove any outer leaves. Cut an 'X' in the bottom of each (or cut in half if they're large).
-
Place a steamer insert in a large pot and add about an inch of water (so it isn't touching the steamer basket)
-
Bring the water to a boil and reduce to a simmer. Cover and steam brussels sprouts 5-7 minutes or until fork tender.
-
While brussels are simmering, melt 1 tablesppon butter in a small skillet. Add Panko bread crumbs and toast over medium heat until lightly browned (about 5 minutes).
-
Place the brussels sprouts in a bowl and toss with 1 tablespoon butter and season generously with salt & pepper. Sprinkle toasted bread crumbs over the Brussels and serve hot.
