Scalloped Potatoes and Ham
These Scalloped Potatoes and Ham are the perfect make ahead holiday dinner but they're just as good for leftovers, too! Super creamy, cheesy and comforting.

- 8 thinly sliced medium red potatoes (about 2 1/2-3lb)
- 2 cups cooked chopped ham
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ cup all purpose flour
- 1½ cups 2% milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Steps
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease a 9x13 inch pan. Layer 8 thinly sliced medium red potatoes and 2 cups cooked chopped ham in the pan.
In a medium saucepan, melt ¼ cup unsalted butter. Add 1 teaspoon minced garlic, 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, 1 teaspoon salt and ⅛ teaspoon black pepper. Cook and stir 1 minute.
Whisk in ¼ cup all purpose flour until smooth, then gradually whisk in 1½ cups 2% milk and 1 cup heavy cream. Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened, 3-4 minutes. Stir in 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese.
Pour sauce over potatoes and ham. Cover with foil and bake for 60-65 minutes, until potatoes are tender.
Uncover, sprinkle with 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese , and bake 10 minutes or until thickened, bubbly, and cheese is lightly browned. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
