Protein Hot Chocolate
With 30 grams of protein per cup, this rich and creamy Protein Hot Chocolate is easy to make and a delicious treat!

- 1 1/4 cups 2% milk (or milk of choice (I used Fairlife))
- 1 scoop chocolate protein powder (about 25g or 1/4 cup; I used AboutTime)
- 2 ½ teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons pure maple syrup (plus additional to taste)
- Tiny pinch kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon chopped dark chocolate (or chocolate chips, about 1/3 ounce)
- 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract (optional)
- Marshmallows or whipped cream (for serving)
Steps
In a small saucepan, heat the milk, protein powder, cocoa powder, maple syrup, and salt over medium high heat, whisking until it is steaming and smooth. Do not let the milk boil.
Add the chopped chocolate and vanilla. Whisk and heat until the chocolate is melted and smoothly combined.
Taste and add additional maple syrup if you prefer it sweeter. Serve hot with toppings of choice.
