Peppermint Bark
Layered semi-sweet and white chocolate flavored with mint and topped with crushed candy canes. This is so easy to make and a holiday classic!

Ingredients
- 12 ounces chopped semisweet chocolate, (good quality)
- 1 ½ teaspoons peppermint extract, (divided)
- 1 pound chopped white chocolate, (good quality)
- 4 crushed candy canes
Steps

Line a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan with aluminum foil and set aside.

Melt 12 ounces chopped semisweet chocolate, using a double boiler or in the microwave. If using a double boiler, melt the chocolate over simmering water. If melting in the microwave, melt in a microwave-safe bowl stirring every 30 seconds being careful not to let it burn and clump.

Stir in ¾ teaspoon peppermint extract and spread the chocolate in a layer on the bottom of the prepared pan. Let cool for about 10 minutes to room temperature or until almost set.

Repeat the same steps to melt 1 pound chopped white chocolate,. Add ¾ teaspoon peppermint extract. Once melted and smooth spread evenly on top of the set semi-sweet chocolate layer.

Sprinkle immediately with 4 crushed candy canes and press them gently into the chocolate.

Set aside and let set to room temperature for about an hour. Break into pieces. Store in an airtight container for one week.
