Ingredients

- 3 cups broccoli florets ( trimmed and washed)
- 1 ½ cups water
- butter (salt and pepper for serving, optional )
Steps

Place a steam basket or colander into a large saucepan.

Add broccoli and enough water to cover the bottom of the saucepan.

Bring to a boil, reduce heat to simmer.

Cover and cook 5-7 minutes or until broccoli is tender-crisp when pierced with a fork.
