- 8 -10 ounces ribeye steak (* see note)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion (finely diced)
- 1 g reen bell pepper (finely diced)
- 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
- ¾ cup sour cream
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 ½ cups shredded provolone cheese (divided)
Steps
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Preheat a cast iron pan to medium high heat. Season steaks with salt and pepper. Sear steak to medium rare, about 3 minutes per side. Set steak aside to rest.
Reduce heat on the pan to medium-low. Add butter, onions and green peppers to pan. Cook until tender and onions are cooked through, about 5 minutes. Cool.
In a bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder and salt and pepper to taste. Mix until combined with a hand mixer.
Remove any fat and dice steak. Fold in onions & peppers and 2 cups of cheese. Place into a greased 2 QT dish. Top with remaining cheese and bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
Serve with bread, sliced hoagie rolls or tortilla chips.
