Ingredients

4 servings
  • Four 6 ounce tilapia fillets
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon fresh ground pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ¼ cup dry white wine
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 medium lemon, (juiced)
  • 1 tablespoon capers
  • chopped parsley ((optional))

Steps

  1. Pat the tilapia dry with a paper towel and set aside.

  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, garlic powder, salt and pepper to combine.

  3. Melt the butter in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.

  4. Dredge the tilapia in the flour and add to the skillet.

  5. Cook the tilapia for 2 minutes or until golden brown, then flip with a spatula and cook for an additional two minutes.

  6. Transfer the tilapia to a platter and cover with foil to keep warm.

  7. Add the wine to the pan and bring to a boil.

  8. Stir in the chicken stock, lemon juice and capers. Continue to boil for 1 to 2 minutes.

  9. Drizzle the sauce over the fish and serve immediately sprinkled with parsley, if desired.
