Easy Hot Chocolate
Just two ingredients -milk and chocolate (no cocoa powder)- make one perfect mug with this Easy Hot Chocolate recipe!

- 1 cup milk (any kind you like*)
- 3 tablespoons semi-sweet chocolate chips ( or chopped dark chocolate**)
- 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 shot whiskey, (dark rum, or peppermint schnapps)
- Pinch kosher salt (highly recommended for all flavor combinations)
- Pinch espresso powder (will enhance the chocolate flavor)
- For topping: Whipped cream, (marshmallows, caramel, or hot fudge)
Steps
In a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium high heat until steaming and small bubbles form around the edge (do not let the milk boil!).
Add the chocolate chips, stirring occasionally with a whisk until smooth and melted. Then add any desired mix-ins or additional flavors.
Serve hot with desired toppings.
