Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 large onion (chopped)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • ⅓ cup chili sauce
  • 1 ½ cups diced green bell pepper
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 ½ tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 3 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • rolls (or buns, for serving )

Steps

  1. In a skillet on the stovetop, brown the ground beef with onion and garlic until no pink remains. Drain any fat.

  2. Place beef mixture in a 4 qt slow cooker. Add ketchup, chili sauce, bell pepper, celery, brown sugar, tomato paste, mustard, vinegar, Worcestershire. and chili powder and stir to combine.

  3. Cook on low 6-7 hours or high 3-4 hours.

  4. Serve over rolls or slider buns.
