Cherry Cobbler

- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cups cherries (fresh or frozen, pits removed )
- 1 cup granulated sugar (divided)
- ¾ cup milk
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 pinch salt
Steps
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
In the bottom of a 9x9-inch baking dish, add the butter and place it in the oven to melt, about 3 to 4 minutes.
Toss the cherries with ¼ cup of sugar. Set aside.
Meanwhile, combine the remaining sugar, milk, flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.
Pour the batter over the melted butter, but do not stir. Sprinkle the cherries overtop.
Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until the cobbler is set.
