Ingredients

4 servings
  • 8 mozzarella cheese strings
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • ½ cup Panko bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ⅓ cup all-purpose flour
  • salt and black pepper (to taste)

Steps

  1. Cut mozzarella sticks in half.

  2. Whisk eggs with 1 tablespoon water. In a separate bowl combine bread crumbs, Panko bread crumbs, vegetable oil, and garlic powder. Place flour in a 3rd bowl and season with salt & pepper.

  3. Dip each mozzarella stick into the eggs and then into the flour mixture. Dip back into the eggs and finally into the bread crumb mixture.

  4. Place on a baking sheet and freeze at least 30 minutes (or up to 6 months).

  5. Preheat air fryer to 390°F.

  6. Generously spray mozzarella sticks with oil or cooking spray. Place in the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 5-7 minutes or until crisp.

  7. Serve immediately.
