• ½ cup dark rum
• 2 to 3 thin strips orange peel
• 1 cup whole milk
• ½ medium vanilla bean, (split)
• ¾ cup granulated white sugar, (divided)
• 1 pinch flaky sea salt
• 4 large egg yolks
• 1½ cups heavy cream
• 2 ounces cream cheese, (at room temperature)
